'Rebecca' Cover Concepts

One of three cover concepts from my final year of university, themed around psychological thriller novels, with a focus on atmospheric illustration and lighting. Novel summary: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier follows a young, unnamed woman who marries the wealthy widower Maxim de Winter and is swept into his world, arriving at his grand estate, Manderley, as his new wife. But the house belongs, in every sense that matters, to someone else. Rebecca, Maxim's first wife, is dead, yet her beauty, confidence, and memory permeate every room, leaving the new Mrs de Winter feeling like a ghost in her own home. As she struggles with isolation and self-doubt, unsettling truths about Rebecca's life and death begin to surface, and the novel's romantic facade gives way to something far darker.
