'Rachel's Holiday' Cover Concept
Penguin Cover Design Award 2025 A special brief set to celebrate 90 years of Penguin Books. The task was to create a new design system for Penguin paperbacks, bold, distinctive, and mass-market, and apply it consistently across three book titles from different genres and time periods. Novel summary: Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes follows Rachel Walsh, a sharp-tongued, self-deluding young woman who arrives at a Dublin rehab clinic convinced she doesn't belong there. She's only there to recover from a rough patch, she tells herself, certainly not because she has a problem. But as the walls of denial slowly come down, Rachel is forced to confront the wreckage of her own making. Funny, frank, and quietly devastating, the novel walks the line between comedy and raw honesty in a way that feels entirely its own.
